Virtual Water Drive for Residents of Newark, NJ
High levels of lead have been found in drinking water in Newark, NJ. Free water filters were distributed to 38,000 homes but they have not been removing lead at the expected amounts. Health and government officials are recommending residents, specifically young children and pregnant women, drink bottled water to limit their exposure to lead. As we know, purchasing bottled water can be costly and there are over 273,000 Newark residents effected by this crisis. In response to this, the NJAND is conducting a virtual water drive. We are asking for monetary donations so that we can provide money to purchase water for the residents of Newark. Any amount will help. All donations will be used for the purchase of water only. Everyone deserves access to clean drinking water!
